Sydney Day Nursery Projects
Over the last 3 years Puddleton Gardens has been working with Sydney Day Nursery (SDN) renovating their centre playgrounds to conform with the recent changes to playground standards. The new standards promote calculated risk taking and greater adventure challenges for pre-school children.
We’re particularly excited with this working relationship. SDN are passionate about creating bespoke playgrounds with a natural feel and purpose built elements rather than installing pre-fabricated play equipment. Puddleton Gardens, SDN and Liquid Design have collaborated to produce some interesting and unique interactive features for children to explore and play.
How to be a smart gardener
Plants don’t ask for much. To grow, all they need is the right proportions of four basic things – sunlight, water, air and nutrients. They are provided with three of these needs via the soil, making it the single most important factor in your garden.
A complete understanding of what soil type you’re working with, as well as what’s going on in the soil and what to put in it, is the foundation of smart, water-efficient gardening. Learning about soil is much easier while you’re working with soil.
How much water does a newly planted shrub or tree need?
Plants will wilt and die without enough water. But too much water can be just as bad for the plant, they may rot or die from lack of oxygen.
Providing the correct amount of water to a new garden is vital to its establishment and will ensure your plants are given the best opportunity to thrive and survive.

Breaking News: Europe bans bee-killing pesticides!
The European Union is set to impose a two-year ban on three pesticides suspected of contributing to the global decline in the number of bees.
Fifteen countries voted to allow the European Commission to restrict the use of the insecticides from December 1.
About three-quarters of global food crops rely on bees and other insects to fertilise their flowers, so the decline of honeybee colonies due to disease, habitat loss and pesticide harm has prompted serious concern.
